Bombay High Court Notified Recruitment to the Post of Judge 2014


The Bombay High Court invited applications for recruitment of 8 candidates and wait list of 2 candidates for the posts of Judge, Family Court, in the State of Maharashtra. The candidates eligible for the post can apply online on or before 4 June 2014. The Bombay High Court was inaugurated on 14 August 1862. It is one of the oldest High Courts of India with jurisdiction over the states of Maharashtra and Goa and the Union Territories of Daman and Diu and Dadra and Nagar Haveli. The High Court has regional branches at Nagpur and Aurangabad in Maharashtra and Panaji, Goa.

Pay Scale: Rs.51550-1230-58930-1380-63070 + dearness allowance and other allowances as admissible under the Rules.

Eligibility Criteria

Educational Qualification

Candidate have held a Judicial Office in India or the Office of a Member of a Tribunal or any post under the Union or a State requiring special knowledge of law for minimum 7 years. OR Candidate has practised as an Advocate in the High Court or in any two or more such Courts in succession for minimum 7 years. OR post Graduate in Law with specialisation in Personal Law OR have a post Graduate degree in social sciences such as Master of Social Welfare, Sociology, Psychology/Philosophy with a degree in Law and minimum 7 years experience in the field work/research or of teaching in a Government Department or in a College / University or a comparable academic institute, with special reference to problems of women and children ; OR 7 years experience in the examination and/or application of Central/State Laws relating to marriage, divorce, maintenance, guardianship, adoption and other family disputes.

Age Limit: Candidate age should not be crossed than 35 years as on 4 June 2014.

Application Fee

General Category Candidates need to pay application fee of Rs.1,000/- and Backward Class candidates need to pay Rs.500/- in the form of demand draft payable at par at Bombay in favour of “Assistant Registrar, for Registrar General, High Court, Appellate Side, Bombay”.

Selection Process

Candidates will be selected on the basis of written examination and viva voce test.

How to Apply

• Interested and eligible candidates may apply through ONLINE MODE from the website of the High Court i.e. http://bombayhighcourt.nic.in before 4 June 2014.
• After submission of online application, candidates are required to take a printout of e-Application form and send hard copy of application along with DD, self attested copies of all certificates/ documents and two passport size photo in an envelop super scripted as “Application for the post of ______” to the office of the Registrar General, High Court, Fort, Mumbai – 400032 on or before 13 June 2014.
